ONLY CURRENT MTA/NYCT TRANSIT TRACK MAINTENANCE SUPERVISORS I & II ARE ELIGIBLE TO APPLY Responsibility: The selected candidate will be responsible for the identification, requisition, and distribution of track material. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as basic computer knowledge including but not limited to Adobe Pro and Microsoft office suite. Applicants must be willing to learn additional programs such as the Commodity Management System (CMS), TALON, Tunnel view, DRAW, and Peoplesoft. The selected candidate must become proficient with the use of MTA Marketplace. Must have extensive knowledge of track material, tools, and construction/maintenance practices. Will be responsible for strict control of all incoming deliveries and distribution of track material and tools. Must initiate purchases of material, tools and supplies as needed for Track division by way of requisitions. Must ensure that receiving reports are accurate and make sure invoices are properly processed for prompt vendor payment. Monitor existing stock numbers and update description as needed by way of G-10, G-11 and G-13 forms. Advise Superintendent of all discrepancies in quantity and quality. Maintain adequate inventory levels of material. Must be organized and have an aptitude to learn various software applications, in order to maintain inventory control, cost accounting and planning. Responsible for all track special work, correct identification, verification of parts, contents and storage in proper assigned locations if need be. Selected Candidate will also be responsible for assisting in hand-held tool insulation contract management. Will be dealing directly with Track Engineering, procurement division, supply logistics, Inspections and testing, The Qualified Products List committee, Materials Classifications Unit, MTABSC, and have a working relationship with vendors on a regular basis. Will deal directly with field supervisors and higher management to assist with material issues that may arise and report to field locations as required. Will be responsible to adjust vendor deliveries of material to coincide with our Track scheduling group and field forces for the Construction and maintenance projects. Must prepare material waivers for all non-compliant material and submit to Superintendent for processing.
Compensation: Maintenance Supervisor II (Track) Salary Range: 1st Entrance $110,381
2nd Year $111,951
3rd Year $115,888
Education and Experience: Five (5) years of full-time satisfactory experience working for a major railroad or transit authority installing, maintaining and repairing track and roadway; at least one (1) year of this experience must have been in a supervisory capacity.
Desired Skills - Knowledge of all track material, track tools, and Construction practices.
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft office suite, and Adobe Pro.
- Aptitude to learn various software applications.
