About the Role

The Company is seeking a Chief Innovation and Technology Officer (CITO) to play a pivotal role in leading the organization's most transformative strategic initiatives at the intersection of education technology, innovation, and literacy. The CITO will be responsible for shaping and driving the innovation agenda, with a focus on technology-enabled products that enhance literacy outcomes for children. This includes leading product development, IT, and R&D, and ensuring that all new initiatives align with the company's mission and long-term goals. The role also involves piloting and leading the Innovation Lab, a new initiative dedicated to exploring community-centered and revenue-generating delivery models. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in enterprise technology strategy, software engineering, user-centered design, and product development, with a proven track record of managing scalable technology products that have driven impact. Candidates for the CITO position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, at least 5 years in a senior leadership role, and a minimum of 10 years of professional experience in relevant technology and innovation fields. The role requires a leader with an entrepreneurial spirit, a strong orientation towards learning, design thinking, and a commitment to user experience. Experience in AI and a background in edtech are advantageous. The CITO will be expected to have a deep commitment to the company's mission, core values, and vision, particularly in the areas of race, equity, diversity, and inclusion. The ability to drive innovation, change, and growth, as well as a high degree of emotional intelligence and the capacity to work within a large, diverse organization with multiple stakeholders, are essential.
